Simple Image Puzzle
This Simple Image Puzzle program was initially written to give my Grandson something to help him concentrate and give him some challenges. I soon realized that the program could be extended to give people of all ages and skills something to use to relax and still create some challenges.
The concept of the program is to select an image from a folder that is supplied or one that you select. It allows you to divide the image into tiles that are displayed on the screen in rows and columns. You select the number of each you want to try.
The basic concept of the program is to select the options you want to use. This includes the number of Rows and Columns you want to use, The Upside-Down options and the Time Challenge. Load an image which is loaded into the tiles on the screen you then can use the “Shuffle and Start” button to randomly move the tiles around and allow you to drag and drop the tiles into their correct position on the screen. Sounds easy.
There are many options available in this Simple Image Puzzle and a Settings option will allow you to change these settings.
Some of the runtime options include.
- Nominating the number of Rows and Columns. Maximum of 10 rows and 15 columns.
- Tile Help
- Upside Down
- Time Challenge
- Show original image
- Auto Solve
- You can setup so the computer talks the words you nominate at particular points of completion. See Help for more info on how to setup the words.
If you get stuck the Tile Help will allow you to click on a tile and it will highlight where it is meant to be moved to.
Upside Down will display the tiles rotated 180 degrees. Some or all of them. This makes matching rather difficult sometimes.
Time Challenge. You nominate a time you think you can solve the puzzle, and it displays a countdown in Seconds and once a nominated time is achieved the system will speak to you counting down the last few seconds
Show original image simply shows the image as it was initially loaded to give you some perspective on the solution. This is only displayed for a few seconds for each click of the button.
Auto Solve does exactly that. It is a hands-off approach to show the tiles moving to the correct position on the screen.
On the top line of the screen, you will see several options
Help – This will display the help file.
Registration – This will guide you through the registration process.
Days Remaining to register. This is a countdown to the 7-day trial end.
Contact us – Gives or email address.
Settings – this give 6 things that can be changed. I will leave that up to reading the Help to understand
The download file is a .Zip file so you will need to right click on it once on your computer and use the expand option in File Explorer. Once expanded select the setup.exe file and run this to install

Unshuffled

Shuffled using partly UpsideDown option

See how you can solve the dissected image yourself by dragging and dropping the individual tiles of the image or if you get stuck use the Auto Solve feature to let the program solve it itself. Sorry the movie is not of great quality, but I am sure you will get the right idea.
Example of Manually Solving the image. You can also use the Auto Solve feature that will do it for you if you get stuck.
